Initial Catastrophy – First World War and Kiel

Opening on Sunday, 8th of July, 2018 at 1130 clock

Facets of war: The role of Kiel, politics, media, church, battles, prisoners, art and literature, personal Feldpostbriefe and photographs.

As a parallel to the exhibitions on the “sailor and workers” uprising of 1918 shows the Association Memorial Kilian e.V. in the Flandern’s Bunker the war – the way of this so-called “catastrophe of the 20th century”, which let people go in the end for their rights on the street. In collaboration with the City of Kiel, the Christian-Albrechts-University, the North Church, the State Commissioner for Political Education and numerous scientists, private collectors and artists, this varied exhibition has been prepared over the past years and extended to include positions in art and literature. For this purpose, a comprehensive accompanying and mediation program is offered.

Exhibition until 31st March 2019
